Readers may be interested in the steps that have led to the rediscovery of my father's family, the Shorrocks' of Salford.

I would of course be delighted to hear from anyone who has any information about the family, who lived variously at Islington Street, Nadine Street and Duke Street. They ran a small Brushmanufacturing factory in Salford throughout the 19th Century.

hi everybody.i was salford born and bred.but now live on the south coast in bognor regis..are there any of your members that went to john st.school ( remember the playground on the roof??) in 1955 to 1956 ..or before that .. i left in '56 well i wish everybody from the mad bad Salford of yore all the very best of health..and to the ladies peace n love xx

Merry Christmas from Tennessee! We remember our visit to Salford fondly. That is where we were introduced to the art of LS Lowry. We now have one of his reprints in our house.

Good to hear from you. I have decided that as were open every Saturday till the end of March that we'll make a big effort to to ask visitors for the contacts that people request.. Last week loads of people got in contact. I found it very exciting. yours Jane Wood (Retracing Salford)
